This branding project was developed as an ode to my early twenties, a formative period spent living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York City. It draws from the fast-paced, ever-evolving energy of a lifestyle defined by constant movement and creative momentum.
Affect Effect Coffee Co. was conceptually inspired by the stimulating aftereffect of a cup of coffee, the moment of clarity and renewed drive that fuels productivity and connection. The brand identity captures this sensation as both a physical and emotional experience, positioning coffee as a catalyst for forward motion. The color palette is built around vibrant, energetic tones that evoke a sense of optimism and a “fully charged” state. Visually, the brand aims to feel dynamic and uplifting.
The logo’s character element was designed to express this energy through motion while maintaining a distinct, contemporary “hipster” aesthetic. This balance allows the brand to feel both expressive and culturally grounded, reinforcing its identity within an urban, design-conscious audience.
